The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has restored four additional State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi States.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna.
According to INEC, the restoration is pursuant to court judgments directing the Commission to reinstate the previously suppressed constituencies in the two states.
The restored constituencies are Abraka, Isoko North II, and Ughelli South II State Constituencies in Delta State, as well as Yagba West II State Constituency in Kogi State.
INEC also announced August 21–25, 2026, for the conduct of party primaries in the restored constituencies.

The Commission said the dates coincide with primaries for bye-elections scheduled to fill vacancies in Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State, Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies of Bauchi State, Udu State Constituency of Delta State, and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency of Kano State.
The electoral body also fixed elections into all the affected constituencies, including the restored ones, for September 19, 2026.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all other timelines and activities contained in the already published revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Election shall apply to the restored Constituencies,” the statement said.
The Commission urged political parties to submit notices of their primaries ahead of the scheduled dates.
INEC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring credible, inclusive, and transparent electoral processes.
