The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election.
In her announcement, the Returning Officer, Professor Adenike Oladiji, declared that Oyebanji secured a decisive victory, polling 319,224 votes to defeat his closest rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to the results announced by INEC, the PDP candidate garnered 40,543 votes, while the ADC candidate secured 12,872 votes.
The APC candidate won all 16 local government areas of the state, recording particularly strong performances in Ado-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ekiti West, Ikole and Ijero local government areas.
INEC said a total of 384,940 voters were accredited for the election, while total valid votes stood at 375,777.
The commission also announced that 6,332 votes were rejected, bringing the total number of votes cast to 382,109.
The declaration confirms Oyebanji’s re-election and grants him another term as governor of Ekiti State.
