‘I’m sorry’ — Chris Okafor begs Doris Ogala, insists allegations not entirely true

Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, has publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala following weeks of controversy.

The cleric’s apology followed sustained public pressure after prolonged allegations linked to claims of an unfulfilled marriage commitment and other disputes.

The issue escalated further after Okafor recently wedded his wife, Pearl, amid fresh drama involving the arrest of Ogala and demands that he withdraw statements he previously described as blackmail.

During Sunday service, the pastor knelt before his congregation and expressed regret over what he described as earlier wrongdoing.

A video shared on the Instagram page of Ogala captured the cleric extending an open apology to the actress and others he admitted may have been hurt by his actions.

He insisted during the apology that the accusations against him were not entirely factual.

Okafor said: “To the lady called Doris Ogala. Listen, we’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender an apology to everybody, but not everything that was said is true.

“Take note, everything that was said isn’t true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said.

“For now, I apologise to everyone who was offended. To Doris Ogala, I’m sorry. I apologise to everyone.”

He further added that he is willing to make amends to anyone who feels wronged.

“Once again, I’m ready to make restitution to anyone. To any lady, anywhere, that I have offended, I’m sorry. I’m not perfect, I’ve never been perfect, but I can tell you, I’ve had a new beginning since the arrival of this father of faith in my life,” he said.

“I’m kneeling before everybody and before the church, asking you to forgive me. You can judge me. Pray for me.”

‘APOLOGY ACCEPTED’

Doris Ogala responded by confirming that she had accepted the apology.

The actress, however, rejected the pastor’s insistence that her allegations were untrue.

“Pastor Chris, please don’t kneel. This was all I wanted. Apology accepted. Chris Okafor, I forgive you, but there’s a problem,” Ogala said.

“Where you said everything is a lie. I have a problem with that because I don’t lie.”

Social media users have continued to react as the development sparks renewed conversations within the entertainment and religious communities.
