IGP Disu Appoints New Police Spokespersons For Seven Commands And Formations, Releases Contact Numbers

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the posting of new Police Public Relations Officers and a Public Relations Liaison Officer to seven commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force.

The appointments were announced on Friday in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja by the Force spokesperson, CSP Ani Ineidu.

According to the statement, the postings form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen police communication, improve public access to credible information and deepen engagement with journalists and other stakeholders.

Under the arrangement, SP Johnson A. Doghudje has been appointed Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 5. He can be contacted on 08038773657.

SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji has been posted to Zone 11, Osogbo, and can be reached on 09152481510, while DSP Orchia Adndongu will serve at the Benue State Police Command. His contact number is 07013495466.

DSP Imah Unwana Victor has been posted to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, with 08038281577 provided as his contact number.

At the Police Academy, ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu has been appointed to handle public relations duties and can be reached on 07064684936.

ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu has been posted to the Yobe State Police Command. Members of the public and journalists can contact him on 08136394230.

The IGP also approved the posting of ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi as Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Gombe State. He can be reached on 08130313033.

Disu charged the officers to uphold professionalism, respond promptly to enquiries and ensure accuracy in the information they release.

He emphasised the need for timely dissemination of verified information and sustained, constructive engagement with the public and the media.

The Force urged journalists and residents to contact the respective officers for verified information and enquiries about police activities within their areas of responsibility.

It reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, effective public communication and constructive engagement, describing these as essential to policing that responds to the needs of the people.
