A 22-year-old Nigerian lady has gone viral after celebrating her marriage to a man she met on Facebook, revealing that they tied the knot about 10 months after he first sent her a message on the social media platform.
The young woman, identified as Doreen Adekunle on Facebook, shared her love story while expressing gratitude to God for what she described as an unexpected relationship.
‘I Found Mine on Facebook’
Doreen revealed that she met her husband on Facebook while she was focused on her faith, dreams and personal goals.
“People find their partners in different places, but I found mine on Facebook.
“All I did was focus on doing the Lord’s work, building my dreams, and pursuing the vision He had placed in my heart,” she wrote.
She referenced Matthew 6:33, which encourages believers to seek God’s kingdom first, saying the Bible verse eventually became part of her testimony.
“Matthew 6:33 truly came alive in my life.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you,” she stated.
‘He Sent His First Message on November 1, 2025’
According to Doreen, her husband first contacted her on November 1, 2025, and despite living in different countries, he continued to express his intention to marry her.
“The Lord gave me a very intentional man, a man who came with clear intentions from the very beginning.
“He sent his first message on 1st November 2025, and by September 2026, he married me,” she wrote.
She disclosed that her husband repeatedly assured her that she was the woman he wanted to marry.
“We were in two different countries, yet he kept saying, ‘Doreen, you’re the one,’” she recalled.
‘He Flew to Nigeria to See Me’
Doreen said she initially insisted on meeting him physically before agreeing to a relationship or marriage.
“I told my husband that before I could say yes, I needed to meet him in person,” she stated.
According to her, the man travelled to Nigeria three months after they connected on Facebook to meet her.
“Three months after we connected, he flew in to Nigeria to see me.
“And he came with his parents too, to introduce them to the woman he intended to marry,” she wrote.
The visit reportedly strengthened her confidence in his intentions and eventually led to their marriage.
‘Oh, I Married Right!’
Reflecting on the journey, Doreen expressed gratitude for how quickly the relationship progressed.
“When I look at the story now, I can only say: Thank you Jesus.
“Oh, I married right!” she wrote.
She explained that she had been focused on serving God, pursuing her purpose and building her dreams when she met the man she eventually married.
“I was busy serving God, chasing purpose, building my dreams and becoming the woman I was called to be, and God was busy writing my own love story.
“Ah thank You, Jesus ooo!” she stated.
She added: “Matthew 6:33 wasn’t just a scripture I knew.
“It became my testimony!!!.”
