How Don Jazzy inspired me to become an influencer – Slimcase

Musician and content creator, Oluwafemi Oladapo, popularly known as Slimcase, has revealed that music executive, Don Jazzy, inspired him to transit from singing to content creation and social media influencing.

He stated during an interview with Naija FM that he did not plan to become an influencer, as it is something that just picked up while doing music.

The ‘Shaku Shaku’ crooner said he derived inspiration from observing Don Jazzy. Slimcase said he is using content to keep his fans engaged until he releases another hit song.

He said; “I didn’t decide to become a content creator/influencer. I just found myself doing it. As I was doing music and seeing trends online, I got inspired by Don Jazzy.

“I looked at Don Jazzy’s way of life, from music to other things; how he has stayed relevant through the years and I was inspired. That has really helped me to hold my fans till the right music comes.”

The producer’s comment is coming after ace Nigerian singer, Ayodeji “Wizkid” Balogun, shaded Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy following a comment from his signee, Ladipoe.

Popular Hip Hop act, Ladipoe, who is signed to Don Jazzy’s record label, had taken to his Twitter account to revisit Wizkid’s controversial “hip hop is dead” statement and mock him for it.

His made the tweet on the heels of Wiz declaring that he is not an Afrobeats artiste and did not want the public to categorise him under the genre.

Ladipoe wrote; “Nigerian rappers that survived ‘hip hop is dead’ watching Afrobeat artists go through their own”.

A fan @miracledc12 called Wizkid’s attention to the shade on Monday morning but the Starboy boss rubbished both Jazzy and Ladipoe in a single tweet.

“Wizkid Ladipo still talk nonsense yesterday o, Abeg enter that one too????????????,” Miracle wrote.

In reaction, the Grammy winner said he will never chat with the rapper because he is signed to a music label (Mavin Records) which is run by an influencer.

“lol never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer. Next,” the Starboy Entertainment founder tweeted.
