The FCT Police Command has commenced investigation into the death of a hotel staff in Utako District following a fight with a tiler hired by the hotel.
In a statement on Sunday by its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the command said it received a distress report on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at about 5:00 a.m. reporting suspicious noise and activity on the third floor of a hotel in Utako.
The statement said a team of officers from Utako Division was promptly dispatched to the scene, where the source of the noise was traced to Room 301.
“One Samuel Net, a tiler hired by the hotel, was found with marks of violence on his body, while another person, identified as Joseph Terdoo, a staff of the hotel, was found lying unconscious on the floor with multiple marks of violence on his body,” the statement said.

The police said further investigation revealed that the two men had a disagreement which degenerated into a physical confrontation.
“Samuel pushed Joseph who fell and hit his head on a wooden object, he fell and collapsed,” Adeh said.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, advised residents to shun violence and self-help during disagreements and to embrace peace and diplomacy in resolving disputes.
