Prince Ikechukwu Oloto, a prominent politician in Enugu State, has been killed by a group of unknown gunmen.
TheNewsGuru reports that the deceased was macheted to death and left in a pool of his own blood at his Nsukka residence located at Odenigbo.
Speaking, the Enugu State Police Command’s PPRO, SP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed in a statement that they’ve begun a manhunt to bring the perpetrators to book. Ndukwe also revealed that the deceased’s body was found with machete cuts to his head and stomach.
He said, “Investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the murder of Ikechukwu Oloto, male, about 53 years old, in Nsukka.”
He said police received a report on September 17, 2026, at about 5:45 pm that he had been found in a pool of blood in his residence.
Quoting him, “Operatives promptly responded and found him with deep, suspected machete cuts to his head and stomach. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the attending doctor. His remains were deposited at a mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while a manhunt has been launched for the assailant(s).”
