Governor Nwifuru Orders Reinstatement of Suspended Head Teacher

The Ebonyi State Government has ordered the immediate lifting of the suspension placed on Mr. Iloke Hyacinth of Community Primary School (CPS) Obulechi Umoru Oriuzor in Ezza North Local Government Area following widespread reactions on social media and other new media platforms.

The directive was issued by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru after reports surrounding the suspension generated public debate and concern among residents and stakeholders in the education sector.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mr. Leo Ekene Oketa, the government confirmed that the suspension had been lifted on the instruction of the governor.
According to the statement, Governor Nwifuru reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of teachers and pupils, as well as the continuous improvement of learning conditions in public schools across the state.

The government also highlighted ongoing infrastructural projects in the affected area, noting that massive school building projects are currently underway at Community Primary School Unwuigboke and Community Primary School Unwuezeali, both located in Oriuzor community.

The statement explained that the projects form part of the administration’s broader efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils across Ebonyi State.

While acknowledging the existence of infrastructural challenges in some communities, the government maintained that efforts are being made to address the issues progressively, stressing that all developmental needs cannot be tackled simultaneously.

The Ebonyi State Government further appreciated the concerns raised by citizens and media organisations over the matter, assuring the public of its unwavering commitment to quality education and the wellbeing of the people of the state.
