There was panic on Wednesday when a stage hosting an Accord Party rally in Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State, collapsed.
The incident occurred while party leaders and supporters were gathered at the venue.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, was said to have attended the inauguration of his re-election canvassers, which was held in Ijebu-Jesa, Ori-Ade Local Government Area of the state.
Adeleke climbed the stage with his entourage, who were received by the spokesperson for his re-election campaign council, Barr. Pelumi Olajengbesi.
While the programme was ongoing, the governor reportedly stood up from his chair to cheer his supporters, and others on the stage joined the gesture.
The action caused the stage to shake, leading to its collapse and causing the governor, his sister, Chief of Staff, spokesperson of the campaign council, and other party bigwigs to fall.
