“Give Us Guns or Protect Us” — Kadiri Sends Strong Message to Tinubu Over Insecurity

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently tackle the worsening security crisis in the country following renewed attacks by armed groups in different parts of Nigeria.

Kadiri made the appeal in a strongly worded statement shared on her social media page amid growing outrage over the killing of a school teacher by suspected bandits in Oyo State.

The actress said Nigerians were becoming increasingly unsafe in their homes, workplaces and communities, stressing that the government must act swiftly to restore confidence and protect lives.

“This is not propaganda! This is not your enemies trying to make you look bad. And even if they were, You can’t leave your house on fire. Dear president Tinubu, please do something… Or give us the go-ahead to protect our lives and properties,” she wrote.

Her comments have since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians echoing concerns over the persistent attacks, kidnappings and killings reported across several states in recent months.

Kadiri lamented that innocent citizens continue to die despite repeated promises by authorities to improve security nationwide. According to her, many families now live in fear due to the growing activities of bandits and other criminal groups.

The actress further stated that citizens should not be left helpless while criminal elements continue to terrorise communities unchecked.

Her remarks come at a time insecurity remains a major concern across different parts of the country, with cases of abductions, attacks on rural communities and killings continuing to dominate public discourse.

Several Nigerians on social media also backed her position, calling on the Federal Government to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve security operations and ensure perpetrators of violent attacks are brought to justice.
