Gbajabiamila appears before ICPC over ‘fake’ agency scandal

Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu had appeared before the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to answer questions in the ongoing probe of the fake agency scandal

Jiti Ogunye, Principal Counsel, Jiti Ogunye Chambers confirmed in a statement Monday in a statement titled
“Gbajabiamila Responds to ICPC Invitation over Ongoing Investigation into ‘PFIPC’ Fake Agency”

Ogunye said: “In full cooperation with the ICPC acting as directed by the President of Nigeria, I hereby confirm that my client, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, responded to the invitation of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and appeared at about 15:00hrs on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of the ongoing investigation into the activities of the ‘PFIPC’ fake agency, among others.”

According the lawyer, “My client gave his testimony, responded to questions accordingly, and has returned to his duty post.”

Newsdiaryonline reports that President Tinubu recently directed the ICPC to probe the scandal and file its report.

The DG of PFIPC which now dubbed fake agency, Matthew Adeniyi Adeyemi, claimed he was appointed through a letter signed by Gbajabiamila. But the Chief of Staff to the president has disowned the DG.
