Irish actor Michael Patrick, known for his appearance in the hit television series Game of Thrones, has died at the age of 35 after a prolonged illness.
His death was confirmed by his wife, Naomi Sheehan, who revealed that he had been living with Motor Neuron Disease for the past three years.
In a heartfelt tribute, Sheehan described her late husband as a source of inspiration to many who encountered him, both before and during his illness.
“Words can’t capture the depth of our heartbreak,” she said. “Mick inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him, not only during his illness but throughout his entire life.”
She added that he embraced life with joy, energy and humour, and believed strongly in appreciating simple moments. “He believed the most important things in life are simple: to eat, to drink, and to be loved,” she said.
Patrick’s passing has been met with tributes from fans and colleagues who remembered him for his on-screen talent and positive spirit off screen.
His death leaves a significant loss for his family, friends and the wider entertainment community.
