Four Police Officers Killed as Terrorists Attack Divisional Headquarters in Borno

At least four police officers have been confirmed dead following a deadly terrorist attack on a divisional police headquarters in Borno State.

According to security sources, the armed assailants stormed the facility in a coordinated assault, opening fire on officers and causing significant damage to the station. The attack reportedly occurred in the early hours, catching security personnel off guard.

The attackers, believed to be members of an insurgent group operating in the North-East, engaged officers in a gun battle that resulted in casualties on both sides. Several officers sustained injuries, while others were forced to retreat as the attackers overran parts of the facility.

Reinforcements were later deployed to the area to restore order and prevent further attacks, while efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators.

Authorities have condemned the incident, describing it as a direct attack on national security, and reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations against terrorist groups in the region.
