FIRS transitions to NRS, unveils new logo

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has formally launched its institutional identity, sealing its transition from the former Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The development featured the public presentation of the agency’s new logo, according to a statement issued by Dare Adekanmbi, special adviser to the chairman of the NRS.

At the unveiling in Abuja on Wednesday, Zacch Adedeji, executive chairman of the NRS, said the new brand marks a defining moment in the evolution of tax administration in the country.

Adedeji explained that the launch reflects a renewed drive towards a unified, more efficient, and citizen-focused revenue system that aligns with Nigeria’s economic renewal objectives and international standards.

He noted that the identity overhaul symbolises continuity of purpose, enhanced institutional strength, and a forward-facing strategy to support taxpayers and national growth.

The agency stressed its commitment to accountability, collaboration, and top-tier public service delivery.

“The unveiling of this new identity represents not an end, but the beginning of a strengthened relationship between the revenue authority and the Nigerian public—built on trust, clarity, and shared prosperity,” the statement reads.

Adekanmbi added that the authority became operational after President Bola Tinubu signed the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Act 2025 into law in June.
