FG to Remove TVET Trainees With Poor Attendance in Cohort II

The Federal Ministry of Education (FME), Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre Managers issued fresh directives after their weekly meeting on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Cohort II trainees with persistently low attendance and poor performance will be removed before applications for Cohort III reopen. Trainees are urged to attend sessions regularly, participate actively and meet attendance requirements.

Training centres must upload monthly reports, including QAA and IQAM, between the 25th of each month and the 5th of the following month. Compliance is intended to minimise payment processing delays.

Trainees experiencing problems or requiring assistance are encouraged to use the support system on their portal dashboards. Submitting details through the designated channel will help ensure concerns are documented and directed to the appropriate team.

The update does not specify a minimum attendance percentage or explain how poor performance will be assessed. Trainees should monitor official communications for further guidance.

What to do

Attend training consistently and check your TVET dashboard. Submit concerns through its support system, and contact your centre for clarification on programme attendance rules.
