FG Announces TVET Centres to Distribute Starter Kits to Some Cohort 1 Trainees

The Federal Ministry of Education (FME), Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre Managers have issued updates following their meeting on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Distributors will soon contact TVET centres to arrange starter-pack delivery. However, packs will not be available for every trade; distribution is limited to designated enhanced-skill trades.

Centres may soon distribute starter kits to eligible Cohort I trainees. For Cohort II, centres must sign acknowledgements and retain kits for eligible trainees until training is completed.

The FME has warned that a PDF circulating online and claiming to list eligible trainees is not official. Trainees and centres should not rely on or circulate it as an authorised list.

No confirmed distribution date or official eligibility list was provided. Trainees should wait for verified information from programme authorities and their centres. Announcement does not mean kits are available for immediate collection, and eligibility remains subject to programme requirements.

How to check status

Check your TVET dashboard and contact your training centre for official updates. Do not rely on the circulating PDF.
