The Federal Government has reportedly released a list of 20 skills areas whose eligible trainees may receive starter kits under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiative.
The circulating list covers trades from solar installation and electrical work to fashion design, plumbing and beauty therapy. Inclusion does not guarantee a kit. Trainees must appear on approved beneficiary lists and qualify.
The ministry says distribution for eligible Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 trainees will begin at centres. Kits are reserved for named beneficiaries.
Centres must inspect deliveries, verify quantities and trades, document shortages or damage, and complete the Physical Delivery Job Completion Certificate and digital acknowledgement on the TVET platform. The digital form must be submitted before the certificate is processed. Centres have seven days from delivery to complete acknowledgement.
Project Monitoring Committees (PMCs) will visit to check kits and records. Centres must report discrepancies.
