Eid: Transport minister urges charity, unity

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Said Alkali, has urged the Ummah to carry forward the lessons of Ramadan, including self-discipline, helping the needy, and promoting good deeds for national upliftment.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Umar Alkali, the minister said the end of Ramadan should not mark the end of spiritual discipline.

He added that charity and empathy should continue to guide Nigerians in their daily lives.

“Nigerians should carry the spirit of charity and empathy into their daily lives. A nation built on compassion for the less privileged will inevitably thrive and prosper,” he said.

He called for renewed patriotism and support for government efforts in transforming the nation’s infrastructure, saying that the transportation sector remained a pivotal engine for economic growth in the country.

Alkali appealed to all Nigerians to foster mutual respect and religious tolerance, emphasising that the country’s diversity should be viewed as a source of strength rather than division.

He urged citizens to work together harmoniously to overcome socio-economic challenges while praying for peace and security across the nation during the festive period.

The minister wished all Muslims a joyous and hitch-free Eid celebration, advising commuters and transport operators to prioritise safety and adhere to traffic regulations to ensure safe journeys with loved ones.(NAN)( www.nanews.ng)
