EFCC declares Jamilu Shaka wanted over ‘criminal conspiracy’

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Jamilu Shaka wanted over allegations of criminal conspiracy and unauthorised withdrawal.

A statement issued and signed by Dele Oyewale, head of media and publicity at the commission, announced the development on Tuesday.

The anti-graft agency issued the notice in a public bulletin identifying Shaka as a 37-year-old indigene of Edo state currently believed to be residing in Kaduna state.

The statement reads “the public is hereby notified that JAMILU SHAKA, whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of Criminal Conspiracy, and unauthorized withdrawal.

“Shaka is a 37-year old indigene of Edo state, but resident in Kaduna state. His last known address is at Sabon Birni Street, Opposite Abuja street (RFG014U2), Rega chikun, Igabi, Igabi, Kaduna.

“Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices or through 08093322644; its e-mail address: [email protected] or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies.”

On Monday, the EFCC said it would not “succumb to blackmail or be railroaded into inconclusive investigations just to be seen to be non-selective.”

The anti-graft also called on Nigerians to support its efforts to combat corruption nationwide.
