BACKGROUND
Olusanya Olumide Adediran has been under investigation by the EFCC over allegations of involvement in illegal foreign exchange transactions.
As part of the ongoing probe, the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja authorized the EFCC to temporarily seize ten properties allegedly linked to him.
Justice M. G. Umar granted the interim forfeiture order after considering an ex-parte application filed by the EFCC.
The application, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1174/2025 and obtained by Naijaonpoint, included an affidavit outlining the assets believed to be connected to unlawful financial activities.
According to the anti-graft agency, Adediran is suspected of using proceeds from illegal forex operations to acquire a number of high-value properties and luxury items.
The assets listed in the forfeiture order include six blocks of two-storey buildings located at 28A and 28B Ibiyemi Salvador Street (African Lane), Lekki Phase 1, Lagos; ten flats in a four-storey building at 22 Akiogun Road, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos; and two blocks of two-storey buildings at 9 Oba Idowu Abiodun Street, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos. Also seized were two Mikano generators, an Ambulance Hiace Super Gel, a Coaster Bus, a Toyota Hilux Bus, a JMC Truck, a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, and a Range Rover Velar (Sport).
According to the EFCC, Adediran and his affiliated companies allegedly posed as legitimate forex dealers, entering into a purported “Bilateral Currency Exchange Forward Agreement.”
Under this arrangement, the nominal complainant reportedly transferred ₦50.4 billion into the company’s accounts for the purchase of $31,514,383, expected to be delivered within 30 days.
The agency further alleged that Adediran repeatedly ignored its invitations and has since absconded to the United Kingdom, prompting additional investigative actions.
