Chief Chidi Obetta, representing Nsukka and Igboeze-South Federal Constituency in House of Representatives said he will deliver 100 per cent votes in his ward Ibagwa-Ani,to All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2027 general elections.
Obetta said this on Monday shortly after he registered at his ward Ibegwa-Ani/Ibagwa Agu/Okparigbo while speaking with newsmen shortly after registering and obtained APC membership card in the ongoing e-registration exercise of the party.
He disclosed that all his supporters in Labour Party and People Democratic Party have all agreed to join him to register in APC the ruling party in the country.
“In 2027 general elections APC will score 100 per cent in my ward in all elections that will be conduct by INEC.
“The presence of huge crowd here because they heard I will register in APC here today is a testament of high regard and volume of love my people have for me,”he said.
The national lawmaker expressed special appreciation to Chief Jude Asogwa, Chairman of Nsukka Local Govenment Area, the APC Chairman in Nsukka LG, Mr Chris Ezema, Chief Onyema Idoko, APC Chieftain in Ibegwa-Ani and former Nsukka LG Chairman as well as other stakeholders present for coming to witness his registration despite their tight schedules.
He said his registration was in respect of the recent decision of South East stakeholders that directed residents of the zone to register in APC the ruling party in order to connect zone direct to the centre.
“In Enugu State, given the superlative performances of Gov Peter Mbah in less than three years everybody in the state is happy to register in APC where the governor belongs, ” the NASS member said .
In a remark Asogwa commended the Ibegwa-Ani people for coming out in enmass and urged to ensure they all registered in APC the ruling party so that they would get dividends of democracy.
“Today your son Chidi Obetta whó have represented the constituency effectively in the past two years has registered, showing that APC is a good party because I know he will not deceive his people.
“The decision of Gov Mbah to connect Enugu State to the ruling party is to ensure that the state gets its rightful share in the centre as South East has been denied many good opportunities in the past for playing opposition to government at centre.
“If you register in APC you will be carried along at the centre, in Enugu State, in Nsukka LG and Ibegwa-Ani ward,”, the LG boss said.
Earlier Mr Chris Ezema, the Chairman of APC in Nsukka LG explained that before Enugu State was in PDP but the state decided to join APC because of numerous benefits the state will get from the centre
“We were in dark when we were in PDP but when our eyes opened we saw good things and many opportunities we lost because of being an opposition party.
“We thank our capacity governor and our elected presentative in Abuja who opened our eyes and connected to the ruling party, today the narrative has changed.
“Register and support APC because you and your family members will benefit many good things as President Bola Tinubu will be re-elected in 2027 ,”he said.
