CloudVantage has officially launched as Nigeria’s first indigenous cloud automation platform. The platform is positioning itself to compete in a space long dominated by global giants such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
The platform, unveiled on Monday, promises to simplify how businesses deploy and manage digital infrastructure. Cloud automation is an area where Nigerian companies have often depended on foreign service providers with high costs and limited local customisation.
Cloud automation allows organisations to manage servers, applications, and data through automated workflows rather than manual configuration. For businesses, this means faster deployment times, lower operational costs, and improved scalability, all critical for startups and enterprises.
Muhideen Ashiru, Chief Executive Officer of CloudVantage, said the company’s goal is to make enterprise-grade cloud technology more accessible and affordable to African businesses.
“For too long, Nigerian and African businesses have relied on international cloud platforms that are expensive and complex,” Ashiru said. “CloudVantage was built to solve that. We offer a simple, reliable, and locally-developed automation platform designed for African realities.”
He explained that CloudVantage eliminates many of the challenges faced by users of traditional “pay-as-you-go” cloud services. These include hidden fees, slow onboarding, and manual setup processes that often require advanced technical expertise.
“Our platform automates cost management, security checks, and server provisioning,” Ashiru said. “This means users can deploy Virtual Private Servers or Cloud environments instantly without needing to navigate multiple steps or complex configurations.”
Ashiru said the system’s automated tools monitor and adjust cloud resources in real time, preventing the kind of budget overruns that many Nigerian firms encounter when using AWS or Azure.
He added that CloudVantage integrates automated security features to minimise the risk of data exposure and misconfiguration, an increasingly important issue as local banks, fintechs, and e-commerce firms migrate critical services to the cloud.
CloudVantage offers a full suite of foundational cloud services, including computing, networking, and storage solutions. It also provides Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS), load balancing, floating IPs, performance metrics, and snapshot backups for quick recovery.
For many Nigerian businesses, the appeal of a locally built platform goes beyond pricing. With tighter data protection laws and concerns over cross-border data storage, homegrown cloud solutions could gain attention from corporate IT departments and government agencies.
The company said it is now accepting sign-ups from developers, startups, and enterprises seeking to modernise their infrastructure while keeping costs and data sovereignty in check.
