Rev. Fr. Gideon Pwakim, the Rector of the St. John Vianney Minor Seminary, Barkin Ladi in Plateau, has advised Nigerians to vote credible leaders during the 2027 general elections.
Pwakim, who holds a PhD in Missiology, gave the advice in his sermon on Sunday at St Finbarr’s Catholic Church, Rayfield, Jos.
The priest particularly advised Nigerians to shun tribal and religious politics and vote candidates with the will to serve the people.
He also urged Nigerians to shun money politics and support politicians with integrity and good character.
“As campaigns for 2027 general elections begin, we have started hearing all kinds of promises from politicians.
“But I want to advice Nigerians to shun tribal, religious and money politics. Nigerians should vote credible leaders in 2027.
“We must vote leaders who mean well for this country; leaders who will set this country on the path of steady growth and development,” he advised.
Pwakim, however, called on Christians, particularly Catholics, who are in leadership positions to be upright and lead with the fear of God.
He urged them to shun primitive accumulation and utilise state resources in serving the people who voted them into office.
