Chief judge Tsoho set to appear before CCB over asset declaration

The federal high court says John Tsoho, its Chief Judge will appear before the Code of Conduct Bureau over allegations linked to his asset declaration.

In a statement issued on Monday, Catherine Christopher, director of information at the federal high court, confirmed that Tsoho is prepared to honour the bureau’s invitation and fully cooperate with the process.

According to the court, Tsoho will appear alongside his legal representative, Kanu Agabi, a senior advocate of Nigeria.

Agabi is currently outside the country for medical reasons but has indicated his readiness to accompany the chief judge upon his return.

The court said the bureau has been informed that any date within the week beginning March 16, 2026, would be convenient for both Tsoho and his counsel.

The planned appearance follows allegations that the chief judge failed to declare certain bank accounts in the asset declaration form he submitted to the bureau.

The code of conduct bureau is empowered to investigate breaches of the code of conduct for public officers and may refer matters to the code of conduct tribunal where necessary.

The statement added that Tsoho remains committed to due process, transparency and respect for the rule of law.
