The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced that its ongoing recruitment exercise has entered the final stage and is expected to be completed within the next four weeks.
The Board disclosed this in a statement signed by its Secretary, Maj Gen. (Rtd) AM Jibril, and made available on Friday, August 21.
The announcement comes amid growing anticipation among applicants who have been waiting for updates on the outcome of the recruitment exercise.
According to the CDCFIB, the exercise received a large number of applications from across the country, making it necessary to conduct a detailed selection process before the successful candidates are announced.
The Board said it was committed to ensuring that the recruitment process remained fair, transparent and consistent with the principles guiding appointments into the four services under its supervision.
It explained that the process was deliberately not rushed because of the need to properly assess applicants and ensure compliance with the principles of merit, federal character, due process and the operational requirements of the services.
“The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) recognises the tremendous amount of anticipation that exists around the current recruitment process,” the statement said.
“The large number of applications received across the country places upon the Board the duty of ensuring that there is a comprehensive, just and transparent selection into the services, both on the part of the applicants and the processes involved.”
The Board stressed that it was determined to complete the exercise without compromising the integrity of the selection process.
“It is the intention of the CDCFIB not to rush the entire recruitment process, but to bring it to completion without any prejudice to the principles of justice, merit, federal character, due process, and the operational requirements of the four services,” it added.

The CDCFIB confirmed that the recruitment exercise had now reached its final stages and would be concluded within four weeks.
It urged applicants to remain patient, assuring them that successful candidates would be notified through the official recruitment portal once the process is completed.
The Board said, “Once this process is completed, candidates will be informed via the recruitment platform.”
Applicants were also advised to rely on the official CDCFIB recruitment platform for updates and avoid unverified information circulating on social media.
The official recruitment portal is recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
The Board thanked all applicants for their patience and assured them that their patience would be rewarded once the final selection process is concluded.
