BREAKING: El-Rufai Released From ICPC Detention After Loosing His Mother In Death
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is set to be released from the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), according to his son, Bashir El-Rufai.
Bashir confirmed the development in a post shared on his verified account on X, where he expressed relief and gratitude following the news of his father’s release.
“Alhamdulillah,” he wrote.
“My beloved great legend of a father (@elrufai) is being released from his unlawful & illegal detention at the hands of one of the most corrupt agencies in the Federal Republic of Nigeria that is a lame excuse of a pathetic institution.”
He also thanked supporters who stood by the family during the period of detention, adding, “Thank you all for all the support. Our family shall never forget these times. We have overcome, as the El-Rufai’s always do.”
The announcement comes amid an emotional moment for the El-Rufai family, as reports indicate that the former governor’s mother passed away in the early hours of the same day while he was still in detention.
Details surrounding the circumstances and conditions of his release remain unclear at the time of filing this report.
