The Bureau of Public Procurement has recently commenced a post-deployment verification for procurement officers on salary grade levels 15 to 17 who were redeployed across federal ministries, departments and agencies.
A statement issued by Zira Nagga, BPP’s head of press and public relations in Abuja on Monday, said the physical verification aimed to confirm the assumption of duty by the affected officers at their new duty posts.
Mr Nagga also said the exercise was in line with its Circular, Ref. No. BPP/DG/2026/M/20, dated March 23, 2026, on the deployment of procurement officers on SGL 15 to 17 in the Federal Civil Service.
According to him, the exercise will commence on Tuesday (today).
He said the exercise was part of the bureau’s efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, ensure the proper placement of professional procurement personnel and enhance compliance with the Public Procurement Act, 2007.
Mr Nagga directed all affected procurement officers on SGL 15 to 17 to complete the handing-over and taking-over process before the verification commenced.
He also urged heads of procurement units and accounting officers in the affected MDAs to cooperate fully with the verification team and ensure all concerned officers were duly informed.
Meanwhile, the director-general of the BPP, Adebowale Adedokun, said the bureau remained committed to building a professional, accountable and efficient procurement system in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
Mr Adedokun said the proper deployment and verification of procurement professionals are essential to promoting transparency, value for money and integrity in public procurement across the country.
He advised affected officers and MDAs who require further clarification to contact the bureau’s head of administration.
