Bible Society empowers future theologians, donates books to college

By Fabian Ekeruche

The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has donated theological materials to Baptist Theological College, in Agbowa, Ikorodu, Lagos State, as part of efforts to strengthen theological training in the school.

Speaking during the presentation, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BSN, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, said that the donation is in line with the organisation’s mandate to translate, publish and distribute Bibles, to foster interaction with the scriptures.

He explained that seminaries provide a strategic platform for achieving this objective, as they are centres where pastors and upcoming ministers undergo training.

He aid that the donated materials will help equip future church leaders in the Word of God, and prepare them for effective ministry.

According to him, the gesture is an expression of the spirit of the festive season, as Christmas entails sacrificial giving.

“This period reminds us of the greatest gift God gave to humanity. In the same spirit, we have come to give resources that will positively impact the ministry and future of the Church,” he said.

Receiving the materials on behalf of the institution, the Principal Assistant Registrer of the institution, Rev. Ezekiel Ojo, described the initiative as timely and significant.

He said that the BSN did not just come on a routine visit, but extended valuable resource materials that will enhance the quality of training at the seminary.

Ojo noted that the materials will expand the institution’s library, and serve both students and faculty members, adding that the donation represented a major investment when the cost of each copy is considered.

While thanking BSN for the support, he described the visit as a testament that God does not forget his people. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
