The Emir of Jema’a, Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu, says sports remain a vital tool for promoting peace, unity, and healthy coexistence among communities in Southern Kaduna.

The traditional ruler stated this on Friday after participating in a badminton game organised as part of activities at the ongoing Southern Kaduna Festival (SKFEST) in Kafanchan.

He said sporting activities provide opportunities for people from different backgrounds to interact, build friendships, and strengthen social bonds.

According to him, sports also help reduce tension and encourage teamwork among young people and community members.

“I feel honored and delighted to be part of this event. Sports remain one of the strongest tools for promoting peace, unity, friendship, and healthy living among our people,” he said.

Muhammadu noted that the Southern Kaduna Festival had continued to serve as a platform for promoting cultural heritage and peaceful coexistence across the region.

He commended the organisers for sustaining initiatives that encourage social harmony and community integration.

The emir said his participation in the badminton game was aimed at demonstrating unity and inclusiveness among the people.

“Leadership is not only about sitting in the palace; it is also about identifying with the people and encouraging activities that bring communities together,” he said.

He urged youths in Southern Kaduna to embrace peaceful coexistence, education, and entrepreneurship to contribute to societal development.

The traditional ruler also advised residents to support programmes and initiatives that promote peace and sustainable development in their communities.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Southern Kaduna Festival features cultural displays, traditional cuisine, sporting events, and social engagements.
