Beta Glass touts sustainable packaging push at Propak W’Africa

Beta Glass Plc, West Africa’s largest glass packaging manufacturer and a member of the Frigoglass Group, used its presence at Propak West Africa 2025 to reinforce its bet on sustainability and local manufacturing as consumer goods companies shift toward eco-friendly packaging.

At the three-day exhibition in Lagos earlier this month, the company showcased new packaging solutions designed to meet rising demand for recyclable materials across the beverage, pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics industries. Executives stated that the event provided a platform to strengthen ties with existing clients and explore new commercial partnerships.

“Propak West Africa has been a vital platform to showcase our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and quality,” Alexander Gendis, chief executive officer, Beta Glass, said in an interview at the event. “It highlights Beta Glass’ role in demonstrating how local manufacturing excellence is driving global standards in glass packaging.”

Sharin Sweet, sales director, said the exhibition gave the company direct insight into customer needs at a time when businesses are under pressure to reduce their environmental footprint.

“These conversations reaffirmed our commitment to delivering packaging solutions that not only drive our customers’ growth but also reflect the highest standards of sustainability and innovation,” she said.

Consumer brands are increasingly leaning on manufacturers such as Beta Glass to help meet corporate sustainability targets, as regulators tighten rules on single-use plastics and investors push firms to disclose progress on emissions cuts.

Guinness Nigeria Plc’s Brand Change Manager for Packaging, Seun Faturiyele, who visited the Beta Glass stand, described the company’s offerings as “rewarding,” underscoring its reputation as a partner for multinational beverage producers.

Headquartered in Lagos, Beta Glass exports across Central and West Africa, positioning itself as a regional hub for sustainable packaging. The company’s showcase at Propak adds momentum to its strategy of combining local production capacity with global sustainability trends.
