Bandits attack Kaduna communities, abduct 13, kill one

No fewer than 13 residents have been abducted and one person reportedly killed in separate attacks on communities in Makarfi and Kajuru Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

Local noted that the attackers first struck a community in Makarfi Local Government Area, where one resident was killed and another abducted during the assault.

In a separate incident, bandits allegedly kidnapped 12 residents of Dutsengaiya community in Kasuwar Magani ward of Kajuru Local Government Area during a midnight raid.

Residents said the attackers stormed the community around 12:00 a.m. on Monday, moving from house to house before taking the victims to an unknown destination.

A community source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the gunmen invaded the village in large numbers, causing panic as residents fled their homes for safety.

“The bandits came around midnight and began moving from house to house. Before we knew what was happening, they had taken away several people.”

The identities of the victims had not been confirmed as of the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the attack and said two suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident.
