Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Asake has put on an electrifying performance at the 19,800-capacity Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.
The “Mr Money” crooner performed before a large audience over the weekend as part of his In God We Trust World Tour, further showcasing the growing international appeal of Nigerian Afrobeats.
Videos from the concert shared on social media showed fans singing along to the artiste’s songs, while several members of the audience held up their mobile phones to capture the performance.
The concert also featured South African Amapiano DJ and producer, Uncle Waffles.
Asake’s performance in Toronto is part of his ongoing North American tour, taking Afrobeats to major cities and international audiences.
He is expected to continue the North American leg of the tour with scheduled performances in venues across Canada and the United States.
Nigerian artistes have in recent years expanded their audiences beyond Africa through international tours, collaborations and performances, contributing to the visibility of the country’s contemporary music and creative industry.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
