The African Democratic Congress (ADC) staged a major political show of strength on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, as top party figures led by National Chairman, David Mark, and National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, rallied support ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
The rally, which took place in the Ekiti State capital, drew a large crowd of party supporters and members who turned out in solidarity with the ADC governorship candidate, Oluwadare Abejide.
The event was described by observers as one of the party’s biggest mobilisation efforts in the state ahead of the polls.
Addressing supporters at the rally, former Senate President David Mark expressed confidence in the party’s chances, assuring the governorship candidate of strong backing from the party leadership.
“We will stay with you and accompany you to the Government House,” Mark told the cheering crowd.

INEC Moves Sensitive Materials Ahead of Election
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun the distribution of sensitive electoral materials from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in preparation for the Saturday governorship poll.
Election officials say the process is part of final logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and credible election across all voting areas in Ekiti State.
With major political parties ramping up last-minute campaigns and INEC advancing preparations, tension and anticipation continue to build across the state as voters prepare to head to the polls on Saturday.
