Nigerian businessman and social commentator Prince Isaac Fayose has criticised President Bola Tinubu over the worsening economic situation in the country, accusing the administration of lacking a clear strategy to address rising hardship and hunger.
Fayose made the remarks in a video shared on his official Facebook page on Sunday while reacting to the wedding ceremony of popular Nigerian content creators, Peller and Jarvis.
According to him, the large number of street youths and beggars seen around the event reflected the growing level of poverty and hunger across the country.
Fayose claimed that the number of area boys seeking assistance outside the venue exceeded the number of invited guests, describing the scene as a reflection of the nation’s current economic reality.
“Jarvis and Peller, congratulations to you. I saw many good people there but I saw more of the area boys on the street. The area boys are even more than the guests.
“That shows that there is massive hunger in the land. I saw the area boys running after cars, humbling themselves and accepting their fate that they are born to be hungry,” he said.
Fayose Faults Tinubu’s Remarks On Hunger
The social commentator also took issue with a recent statement credited to President Tinubu, in which the President reportedly said hunger had existed long before he came into office.
Fayose argued that the current economic challenges had worsened under the present administration, insisting that Nigerians expected practical solutions rather than explanations.

“Our President came out and said that before he was born, there was hunger. Now the hunger has tripled,” he stated.
He further compared Nigeria’s situation with that of developed countries, saying the government should focus on implementing policies capable of easing the burden on citizens.
According to him, the administration has yet to demonstrate a convincing economic strategy to tackle inflation, poverty and food insecurity.
“Tinubu doesn’t have an idea of how to talk to the masses these days. No economic strategy to tackle this hunger in the land.
“A hungry man in Nigeria is no longer angry; we are too hungry to be angry. People are completely enslaved by this APC government,” Fayose said.
He also referenced the forthcoming elections, urging Nigerians to prioritise their economic realities over political slogans.
“An election is coming and they are forming City Boy and Mama’s Boy, but people that are hungry are not forming anything,” he added.
