Air Peace on Tuesday confirmed that several of its flights were delayed due to heavy rainfall in Lagos, which disrupted morning operations across its network.
In a statement signed by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, and issued via its official X handle, the carrier explained that adverse weather conditions were beyond its control but assured passengers that safety remained its top priority.
“Due to the heavy downpour of rain in Lagos this morning, some flights across our operating networks will be delayed. While weather is beyond our control and safety remains our utmost priority, we appeal for your understanding as we manage the disruptions as best as we can and get you to your destinations safely,” the statement read.
The airline further reiterated its commitment to safety, stressing that its operational decisions are guided by strict adherence to aviation standards.
“At Air Peace, safety is not just a priority but a core commitment. We remain dedicated to upholding the highest safety standards for our passengers and crew,” it added.
The airline thanked customers for their continued patronage, noting that it would work to minimise disruptions and restore normal flight schedules as quickly as possible.
The disruption comes at a time of increased rainfall in Lagos, which has affected both air and road transportation in the state.
Aviation analysts noted that weather-related delays are common during the rainy season, and airlines are required under safety regulations to adjust schedules when conditions are deemed unsafe for operations.
