“Ahead Of 2027 Elections” — APC Reopens Nationwide Electronic Membership Registration, Sets August 31 Commencement Date

…Existing Members To Revalidate

The All Progressives Congress has announced the reopening of its nationwide electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The ruling party said the exercise would commence on Monday, August 31, 2026, and be conducted across all electoral wards in the country.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced the reopening in a statement issued on Tuesday, August 25, inviting party stakeholders, supporters and members to participate.

According to the party, existing members are expected to validate their membership details, while new and intending members may register formally to join the APC.

Participation in the exercise is restricted to persons aged 18 years and above who possess valid National Identification Numbers.

“We invite all party stakeholders, supporters and members, old and new, to participate in the APC Membership Electronic-Registration Exercise,” Morka said.

“The exercise will be conducted in all wards nationwide. Existing members are expected to validate their membership, while new and intending members are encouraged to register and join the progressive family.

“Registrants must be 18 years or older and possess a valid National Identification Number.”

The APC said the exercise was designed to digitise its membership register and protect the integrity and accuracy of records submitted across the country.

It added that the electronic platform would facilitate efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions while promoting internal democracy within the party.

According to the ruling party, the initiative also demonstrates its commitment to democratic innovation and the modernisation of its membership-management system.

The reopening follows an earlier electronic registration drive conducted by the party in preparation for the 2027 electoral cycle.

At the time, Morka disclosed that more than seven million people had been enrolled on the party’s digital register, with the figure expected to increase before the exercise ended.

The party subsequently claimed in February that its registered membership had crossed the 10-million mark.

The latest exercise will provide another opportunity for existing members to validate their information and allow eligible Nigerians seeking to join the ruling party to be captured in its national database.

The APC urged members, supporters and other interested Nigerians nationwide to take advantage of the exercise when registration reopens on August 31.
