It was reported yesterday that during a debate on the E-levy proposed by the Finance Minister in the 2020 ‘Agyenkwa’ budget, the 8th parliament of government got into a heated dispute that turned into a physical brawl among members of parliament.

The sit-in Speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu, had stated that the Bill, which had been tabled under a certificate of urgency, would be approved by a division, and that he would vote in his capacity as a Member of Parliament.

Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) looked angered by this, questioning his decision to vote after presiding over the night’s events and hurling threats at the Bekwai MP as they advanced to the front of the stand.

While taking a walk through the incident, Nana Aba Anamoah has given an ultimate solution to the members of parliament, saying that sittings at the parliament should be moved to the Bukom Arena just in case they engage in another physical brawl during discussions.

She wrote; At this rate, Parliament should move sittings to Bukom Arena.
