I Was Shocked To See First Lady Rebecca Use My Lyrics For Akufo-Addo’s Birthday- Gyakie

Ghanaian songstress, Jackeline Acheampong, well known as Gyakie has opened up about her experience with the reception of the First lady of the Republic, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo to her song,  “Forever”.

You could recall that in celebration of the 77th birthday of President Nana Akufo-Addo on March 29, 2021, Mrs Akufo-Addo borrowed a line from Gyakie’s Forever song to declare her undying love for her husband.

She wrote: Many blessings to the President of Ghana @NAkufoAddo First Lady ein heart beats for you.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on the Hitz 103.9 Fm, Gyakie was quizzed about the thoughts that run through her mind when she saw the tweet of the first lady using her lyrics.

Gyakie explained that she was literally surprised and shocked at the same time and it served as a fuel of motivation for her to keep up with her work.

Gyakie said: “I don’t know how I want to describe it. It was one of the biggest motivations for me this year, I woke up in the morning and everyone was sending it to me and I couldn’t believe it.

I had to check the page to be sure and when it was true, I was surprised and honoured that she actually quoted the line in the song,” she added.
