The Premier League announces the induction of two new members into the Hall of Fame.
Andrew Cole and John Terry have been selected for induction into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
They emerged as the top choices from a shortlist of 15 players, which underwent public voting by the Premier League Awards Panel. This year, they join Ashley Cole in the Class of 2024, following the former England left-back’s induction earlier in the year.
Andrew Cole, renowned as the fourth-highest goalscorer in Premier League history, amassed 187 goals from 414 appearances, with just one from the penalty spot. His illustrious career spanned across clubs such as Newcastle United, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth, and Sunderland. Notably, his move to Manchester United in 1995 set a new British transfer record, and alongside his strike partner Dwight Yorke, he played a pivotal role in the Red Devils’ dominance between 1998 and 2001.
Joining Cole in the Hall of Fame is Chelsea legend John Terry, who clinched five Premier League titles with the club. Terry holds records for the most clean sheets in league history (214) and the most goals as a defender (41). He described his induction as a testament to his dedication and effort on the pitch, highlighting the privilege of captaining Chelsea and achieving remarkable success with the team.
