Nigerian actor and online comedian, Ogunleye Oluwatosin, popularly known as Bro Bouche, has revealed that he ditched law to focus on skit making due to financial constraints.

He revealed in an interview that he’s been into skit making since 2015, but prior to that time, he started as a stage play actor while doing his undergraduate programme at the university.

Bro Bouche law skit-making

Bro Bouche said when he finished from law school he tried eploring Nollywood but it was challenging so he leaned more into creating content

He said; “I started my journey as a stage play actor during my second year at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State. However, content creation became a significant part of my life around 2015.

“Upon returning from law school, I pursued roles in movies, although it was quite demanding. Despite the challenges, I cherished every audition experience. When faced with financial strain, I leaned more into content creation, while still managing my commitment to acting. Ultimately, my passion for acting remained a driving force throughout.

“I can confidently say that I truly immerse myself in my performances. Whether it is in my content creation or elsewhere, I approach it with the mindset of embodying a character in a movie. My penchant for dialogue adds a distinctive touch to my works, setting me apart from others.”

Popular skit-maker, Michael Sani Amanesi, professionally addressed as MC Lively, has revealed why he does not practice law despite becoming a lawyer years ago.

The comedian revealed during a chat with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, that was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016, but he switched from law to comedy.

MC Lively said he really loves law and excelled at it in school but he got to realise that there was a huge difference between what on expects while still studying and what one meets in the real world.

According to the graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, the reason he refused to practice law was because he was offered N5,000 to work at a law firm.

He said the N5,000 salary he was offered was really upsetting, and that was after he had visited different chambers to look for work after completing his NYSC programme.

MC Lively said; “I love law so much. I excelled at it so much. I really really loves it. But there was such a struggle between what you do in school and things in real life. It’s so different. I mean, how do I go to law school, spent such huge amount of money and coming out as a corper, and you are telling me that you can pay me N5,000 per month? To do what?

No, it was really upsetting. And I remember that before I even got that particular one, I had to go look for work by myself in different chambers. Before I got that particular one, I had gone to like three or four chambers, they said, so sorry, there’s nothing they can do.

NYSC, this is not even like the real job o. This is just NYSC. So, imagine what you would have to go through even when you are done with the NYSC and you want a real job, an actual job.”
