Indian Teenager Breaks Longest Dancing Marathon Record
Punch papers reports that with a time of 127 hours, 16-year-old Srushti Sudhir Jagtap beat the previous record of 126 hours set in 2018 by Nepalese dancer Bandana Nepal to become the first person to complete the longest dance marathon.
Swapnil Dangarikar, the Guinness World Records Official Adjudicator, claims that the dancing marathon took place in her school’s auditorium in front of a crowd that included her parents and fans.
The marathon dance by Jagtap began on May 29 and lasted on June 3 in the afternoon.
A recognized dancing style must be performed to a fair standard, and the performer’s feet must always be moving in rhythm with the music, according to GWR on Wednesday.
Jagtap performed in the Kathak style of Indian classical dance, one of the eight main categories.
She prepared for her record attempt for 15 months. Her grandfather, Baban Mane, instructed her.
Most of Jagtap’s downtime occurred at midnight, when she dozed off or spoke to her parents.
