BREAKING: Moises Caicedo Signs For #Arsenal?—Brighton star Moises Caicedo has reportedly agreed terms with Arsenal despite being undecided as to where his future lies.

The Ecuador international has been pivotal to Brighton this season, helping them to a sixth place finish to secure European football next season. And yet in came close to moving across London in January amid intense interest from the Gunners, choosing instead to sign a new contract.

But that hasn’t stopped the speculation over the 21-year-old’s future, who has made no secret of his goal to play Champions League football. It’s not just Mikel Arteta pursuing him though, with both Chelsea and Liverpool in the race despite their own failures to finish in the top four.

But that hasn’t stopped the speculation over the 21-year-old’s future, who has made no secret of his goal to play Champions League football. It’s not just Mikel Arteta pursuing him though, with both Chelsea and Liverpool in the race despite their own failures to finish in the top four.

According to a report by Ecuadorian media outlet Teradeportes, Caicedo is weighing up his options but Arsenal’s qualification for the Champions League has seen them lead the race and even agree personal terms.

It is however suggested that Chelsea will offer better wages than their London rivals, with Mauricio Pochettino hopeful of persuading him to move to Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool meanwhile, are seemingly poised to sign Caicedo’s teammate Mac Allister, and Teradeportes claims the links between the two clubs could be a factor.

The Seagulls are seeking to use Caicedo’s contract status to ramp up his fee, demanding in the region of £75 million for their star man. Whether Arsenal are prepared to meet that could be dependent on their chase for Declan Rice, with West Ham seemingly demanding around £100 million for the England international.

Chelsea may also have another bargaining tool at their disposal, with Levi Colwill currently on loan at Brighton. The Blues have this weekend rejected a bid of £30 million to make the move permanent, but may be open to the notion of a part exchange.

After their final Premier League game at Aston Villa last Sunday, Caicedo tweeted his appreciation to the club, but stopped short of hinting over his future: “What a team and what a journey,” he wrote. “So happy and proud. Thank you Seagulls for your support all season.”
