Davido Reveals Why He Performed For Free At Alex Otti’s Inauguration

David Adeleke, commonly known as Davido, a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, has revealed why he played for free at the inauguration ceremony of Abia State Governor Alex Otti.

Remember that Davido sang some of his hit songs in Umuahia after Otti and his deputy, Ikechuckwu Emetu, were sworn in by Abia State Chief Judge, Justice Lillian Abai.

However, the singer’s actions prompted his followers to question why he chose to give a free show to the Abians despite being an A-list performer. Some suspected that he received enough money for the concert before coming on stage.

In response to the reports, Davido stated on Twitter that he has known the Abia governor his entire life and believes that he would do the right thing for his people. He further stated that he was not compensated for his performance. Davido wrote his verified Twitter handle, His tweet reads: “Not a dime. I’ve known his excellency all my life an i am sure he will do well for the peopple of Abia state.”
