In a sermon, the cleric declared that the prediction about an interim government to be headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was false.

Ikorro, who had in October 2022 prophesied that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate would win, said nothing will stop his inauguration on May 29.

The fiery preacher also faulted some clerics who gave “emotional prophecies” ahead of the polls, advising them to work for the progress of the country.

Ikorro said before the APC primary election, God told him pointedly that Tinubu would emerge victorious and not Osinbajo “as many people expected.”

He recalled “many prophetic fathers” were very careful to speak on the 2023 general elections because it was a sensitive political season.

“Many people, out of sentiment, doubted my prophecy. Against all odds, Tinubu emerged as the presidential flagbearer of the APC.

Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has urged the Institute of Director to ensure integrity to address many of the challenges confronting governance in the country.

He spoke at the 40th-anniversary dinner of the Institute of Directors Nigeria in Lagos.

He said, “A culture of integrity is what is needed to address many of the challenges confronting governance in our country. When integrity is entrenched as a culture and a corporate lifestyle in many organisations, the problems associated with corruption, dishonesty, poor governance, and even election irregularities will be significantly addressed.

“We can indeed reimagine the fate of governance in our country through ethical and sound work culture. This must begin with respective leaders like you who serve as directors, senior business leaders, and entrepreneurs in different organisations.”

In his presentation at the event, he urged the directors to project IoD as the go-to organisation for integrity and exemplary leadership.

Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has described the Second Niger Bridge as a fundamental change that would catalyze new waves of prosperity and economic growth in the South-East geopolitical zone.

Soludo, who spoke during the commissioning and handover of the bridge at the Asaba, Delta State end, said he was particularly overjoyed because the people of South East had long advocated for this type of infrastructural development.

President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the multi-billion naira project Zoom, while the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, Governor Soludo, as well as Governors Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, were on the ground to cut the tape.

The governor, however, listed four other major projects desired in the region, including the dredging of three channels that would give the South East access to the Atlantic Ocean, the construction of the Anambra-Lokoja Road, the gas pipeline, and the railway line.

Imo PDP Rep Joins APC

The member representing Orlu/Oru East/Orsu Federal Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives, Hon Jerry Alagbaoso, has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made his decision known in a letter presented to the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, at a plenary, on Tuesday. Alagbaoso who later read the letter said he defected because he wants to work with Governor, Hope Uzodinma, to take the state to the mainstream of Nigerian politics and “bring more dividends of democracy to the people”.

Gbajabiamila described Alagbaoso’s defection as an “earthquake moment” because of his political stature. Gbajabiamila described Alagbaoso’s defection as an “earthquake moment” because of his political stature. He said that was why he was allowed to read his defection letter by himself instead of the usual practice when the speaker reads the letters submitted by defecting lawmakers.
