Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor professionally known as Rema, has recounted how he bought a car for his mum when he was 17 years old.

The ‘Calm Down’ crooner made this known in an interview while recounting his struggles growing up.

Rema said his family lacked a lot and could not afford to pay for electricity, buy food and other basic necessities.

He noted that he felt sad seeing his mum go through so much shame and he did not feel comfortable just sitting idly and watching her.

Rema said that he traveled out of the country, but he did not inform his mother that he will be away for a while she would be heartbroken and most likely not approve.

The award-winning singer said that he stayed in a foreign country for about a year and worked hard to make it abroad.

The Jonzing Records said that he engaged his different hustles, some of which he was proud of and others that he was not so proud.

He said that when he returned to Nigeria after one year, the first thing he did was to get a car for his mum, but he saw it as him sowing a seed to his mum.
