My husband and I were swimming in N22million debt – Real Warri Pikin opens up

Popular Nigerian comedian and actress, Real Warri Piki,n has opened up on the financial challenges she and her husband were battling with in 2018.

The movie star who spoke in an interview with media personality, Chide Jideonwo, revealed that they were in debt to the tune of N22 million (Twenty-Two Million Naira).

Real Warri Pikin recounted a time things were so tough for the family that she attepted suicide in June 2018.

She said that her family took her three different hospitals before she regained consciousness.

The Nollywood star revealed that upon gaining consciousness, she knew God didn’t want her to die as he still had plans for her on earth.

According to Real Warri Pikin, she decided to use her experience to motivate others battling life challenges.

She said; ”In 2017/2018 I had issues. Actually, I and my husband had issues, financial issues because we were in debt and everything. Then, I attempted suicide on June 6, 2018, but I didn’t die. Then they carried me to three different hospitals. In the last hospital when I woke up, I was like so I didn’t die? That meant God didn’t want me to die.”

In other entertainment news, Nigerian comedian and skit-maker, Emmanuel Iwueke, popularly known as Craze Clown, has posited that a large percentage of the citizenry are beneficiaries of corruption.

He stated this in a post on his verified Twitter page, noting that he is among those who are guilty of being favoured by corrupt practices.

Craze Clown said that 80 to 90 percent of the Nigerian population have benefited in one way or the in the course of their everyday lives.

He gave instances such as paying money to gain admission into school or to gain entry into certain places as well as giving cash o that one can be allowed to skip long queues either at filling stations or banks and other places.

According to the content creator, the fact that every facet of the society witnesses such acts shows how deep corruption has eaten into the system.

Craze Clown tweeted; ‘‘Almost 80-90% of the citizens have benefitted from corruption one way or the other? Even unknowingly. Either by paying to skip long queues or paying to get admission? The list goes on! Shows you how much corruption has eaten deep into the system. It’s really bad. I’m guilty.”
