A man has explained why he believes Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi would not do well as President of Nigeria.

He said that the former Governor of Anambra state cannot control the nation because it is too diverse and needs experienced political office holders.

Speaking during a street interview, the man said he heard that Obi worked in Anambra, but he believes the state cannot be compared to Lagos.

According to him, Obi should shelve his presidential ambition temporarily and allow more experienced people to govern first.

He mentioned former Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola as someone who deserves a chance to be president before Obi.

The man said someone is need to lay the foundation which the LP candidate can come and build on in the future.

Watch him speak below:

CorrectNG reported earlier that Peter Obi said he will drastically reduce poverty and insecurity in the nation after he emerges president in 2023.

Obi made the bold declaration in a series of tweets via his handle on Thursday, August 18, 2022 following a summit his party organised with Nigerian youths.

According to him, the medium he intends to use to accomplish the set goals include job creation and reformative investments.

The former Anambra governor reiterated his position to shift the nation’s economy from consumption to production.

He tweeted; “After we win the 2023 elections, we intend to use the instruments of job creation and regenerative investments to drastically reduce the high incidence of insecurity and poverty, while moving the economy from the consumptive to the productive mode.

“Undoubtedly, the greatest challenge we face beyond bad leadership, is lack of elite consensus. But, let us not forget Dante Alighieri‘s admonition, that ‘The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality.

“History must serve as a tool in our decision-making. The implosion of Nigeria has long been forecasted. Year 2023 could be a tipping point in the annals of our history. But that must not happen, even as the options before the electorate seem stark.

“Going forward, we must look for ways to move Nigeria beyond oil. We must end this criminality called ‘oil subsidy.’ Nigeria today is vastly polarised and wrecked by divisions that run deep along religious, ethnic and regional lines.”
