According to the “Fante Rap God”, he did not switch from being a rapper to a singer because the rap wasn’t paying but because he felt his fans and other music lovers were not getting the message he wanted to get across through his songs.
Speaking in an interview on BTM Afrika, Kofi Kinaata revealed that even though it may seem like his decision to sing and forego his rap was a good one, his rap songs still contain relevant messages but most fans would snub that and focus on his singing.
He intimated that some of his fans after listening to his songs went back to cross-check his rap songs and realized that he had good messages in his rap songs as well.
He further explained that rap is just like poetry which without melodies and tunes, people might not understand, hence he only wanted to create something which even if his fans do not understand the language or the message, they can dance to the tune.
