In a statement dated January 6, 2022, the association complained about what it refers to as the lack of trust that has so far characterized its engagements with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).

The National Labour Commission (NLC) rescheduled a meeting with UTAG today Thursday, January 13, 2022. It is also expected to discuss the conditions of service demanded by UTAG, the failure of stakeholders to stick to an earlier agreement, and consider the ‘hearing of the issues in dispute.”

Reacting to the ongoing situation, actor and politician John Dumelo has taken to his Twitter page to urge the government to pay the teachers in order to go back to the classrooms.
